Flourishing communities with natural beauty

Welcome to Venice/Osprey/Nokomis

The small communities of Venice, Osprey, and Nokomis are located just outside of Sarasota, Florida. These areas are thriving, with many new residents purchasing homes here because of the community’s natural beauty and beautiful beaches. Unlike other areas, there is not a lot of urban construction here. Venice, Osprey, and Nokomis embrace a slow-paced, relaxing lifestyle with homes in quiet, luxurious residential streets. Many older homes have been renovated or restored into beachside oases with overside porches and offer immediate access to Sarasota County’s unspoiled shoreline.

Local Lifestyle

Venice, Osprey, and Nokomis offer the relaxation and peace you often expect in a small beach town. Residents are always smiling, happy, and willing to offer a welcoming hand. There is a great mix of vacation and year-round residents here, and many of the mainstay residents commute into Sarasota for work. You can easily catch locals out on their golf carts and enjoying the warm, year-round climate. Even the area’s finer dining options carry a chic-casual atmosphere about them.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

For an upscale tiki bar atmosphere, grab drinks and seafood at Sharky's On the Pier. This restaurant is one of Venice’s most popular waterside spots. Not far from Sharky’s On the Pier is Crow's Nest Restaurant, Tavern & Marina, a waterfront eatery offering a laidback or fine-dining experience. Enjoy a casual, relaxed atmosphere at the locale’s downstairs tavern, or head upstairs to its chic dining space for an upscale culinary adventure.

Book a reservation at Cassariano Italian Eatery in Venice for traditional and authentic Italian fare. The menu here is brimming with all your favorite pasta dishes and the best bottles of wine.

Incredible views of Nokomis Beach are found at Pop's Sunset Grill’s patio. This waterfront restaurant serves a vast menu of American classics and fresh seafood.

Things to Do

Visit the historic Spanish Point in Osprey. Its small trail, local gardens, and charming old church make it a great morning stop for peace and quiet. Tour the grounds yourself or take a guided tour to learn more about the area.

If you want to surf in Venice, head to South Jetty Beach. This popular beach is known for its wind and surf conditions, ideal for catching the best waves. After a day of surfing, take your canine companion to their own beach at Brohard Paw Park. Brohard Paw Park is the only dog-friendly beach in the county. Watch your furry friend enjoy the sand and surf as you socialize with other pet owners.

A leisurely stroll through Historic Downtown Venice is a must. You can follow the signs at Venice Avenue and take a self-guided tour to see all the different homes, buildings, and other landmarks preserved in the area.

Spend some time in the sand, surf, and sun at Venice Beach or Nokomis Beach. While each of these beaches offers some of Florida’s most beautiful white sand and blue waters, they also provide unique and distinct experiences for guests.
